Clare Plested – Writer & Actor

Clare trained in Performing Arts at Middlesex University with John Wright. Along with Adam Brown and Amanda Wilsher she is co-founder of ‘Plested and Brown’ and has written and performed in all six shows to date: Carol Smillie Trashed my Room, The Reconditioned Wife Show,  Flamingo Flamingo Flamingo, Hot Pursuit, Minor Spectacular and Health and Stacey. She has toured with the company for 7 years across the United Kingdom and internationally in South Korea, Armenia and New Zealand. 

With ‘Plested and Brown’ she has worked with David Sant (Peepolykus), Phelim McDermot (Improbable) and Toby Wisher (Ex-Trestle).

When not writing or performing with Plested and Brown Clare has performed in the Office Party at the Edinburgh Festival 2008 - directed by Cal McCrystal, concept by Christopher Green (Tina C) and Ursula Martinez (La Clique); researched and developed Tangle with Unlimited Theatre and worked on a development of an ITV2 comedy pilot with Rob Rouse, directed by Cal McCrystal. 

Clare has appeared in the last three pantos at The Newbury Corn Exchange. She has played Baguette in Beauty and the Beast (2007), Tiffiany the Genie in Aladdin (2008) and Fairy Thatcham in Puss in Boots. 

She has also run business training workshops in the UK, South Africa and Egypt.

Adam Brown – Writer & Actor

Adam trained in Performing Arts at Middlesex University with John Wright. He is co-founder of ‘Plested and Brown’ and has written and performed in all six shows to date: Carol Smillie Trashed my Room, The Reconditioned Wife Show, Flamingo Flamingo Flamingo, Hot Pursuit, Minor Spectacular and the most recent Health & Stacey.  He has toured with the company across the UK as well as performances in Armenia, South Korea and the Best of British Festival in New Zealand. 

With the rest of the ‘Plested and Brown’ team (Amanda Wilsher and Clare Plested) he has worked with David Sant (Peepolykus), Phelim McDermot (Improbable), Cal McCrystal (Mighty Boosh) and Toby Wilsher (Ex-Trestle).

Adam has also worked with Toby Wilsher on a new mask show The OFSTED Inspector (Passion Fish Theatre Co).

Adam plays Oswald Potter in the new series of CBBC’s ChuckleVision.

For the past three years Adam has been in pantomime at The Newbury Corn Exchange. He played Croissant in Beauty and the Beast (2007), Kevin the Genie in Aladdin (2008) and Harvey Nicks in Puss in Boots.

Adam has also lead business training workshops in India, UK and Germany.

 

Adam Brown

Amanda Wilsher – Writer & Director

Amanda is co-founder of ‘Plested and Brown’ and has written and directed all six shows to date: Carol Smillie Trashed my Room, The Reconditioned Wife Show, Flamingo Flamingo Flamingo, Hot Pursuit, Minor Spectacular and Health & Stacey.

She trained at Middlesex Poly – as it then was – and went on teach there for four years.

She is one of the country's foremost mask practitioners and has done considerable work abroad, including Germany and Israel, directing shows and running workshops. 

Directorial credits include outside Plested and Brown include the national tour of Island for Trestle Theatre Company and assistant director for The Stoneheads at The National Theatre. 

She is founder-director of the Young People's Drama Centre with many students appearing in all the Harry Potter films.

She also runs ’moose’ – a highly successful training company. Using her theatre expertise and experience, she works with several public and private sector companies, running workshops in presentation/communication skills, and building creative teams.
